Homes of Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce Targeted in Burglary

Last month, law enforcement reports indicate that the residences of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were burglarized within a few days of each other.

“It’s certainly frustrating and disappointing,” Mahomes remarked prior to practice on Wednesday.

This season, the Baltimore Ravens defense has unexpectedly become a liability. The Ravens defense has been reduced to a one-man team: potentially fatal flaws for Super Bowl contenders.

The break-ins, initially reported by TMZ, occurred just before and on the day of the Chiefs’ 26-13 home win against the New Orleans Saints on October 7, during which Kelce’s prominent girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was present in the stands. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either incident.

The day before the Monday night game, law enforcement responded to a residence matching Mahomes’ address in a private, gated community located in northwestern Cass County, just south of the metropolitan area.

Mahomes stated that he could not disclose many details due to the ongoing investigation, describing the situation as “something you don’t want to happen to anyone, especially yourself.”

His name does not appear on the sheriff’s office report obtained by the Associated Press. The single-page document indicates that another individual reported a burglary shortly after midnight on October 6, although it did not specify any missing items. Ronnie Lozano, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department, confirmed via email that the investigation remains active and declined to provide further details, including whether any arrests had been made. The county prosecutor did not respond promptly to an email requesting comment.

On the evening of October 7, as the Chiefs faced the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium, a residence matching Kelce’s address was burglarized in the affluent suburb of Leawood, just across the state line in Kansas. The crime was not reported until the following morning, according to an offense report obtained by the AP.

Kelce’s name isn’t listed in the report, which said losses included $20,000 in cash and damage to a rear door. The 16,000 sq ft home includes a wine cellar, backyard pool and six-car garage.

“The Leawood Police Department does not comment about specific victims of crimes except in the case of fatality crashes or homicides,” police captain Jason Ahring said in an email.

Melody Webb, a spokeswoman for the area’s Johnson County prosecutor’s office, said in an email that the office had no comment.
