Inter Milan vs Arsenal 1-0: UEFA Champions League – as it happened
Hakan Calhanoglu netted the sole goal from the penalty spot, leading Italian champions Inter Milan to a 1-0 victory over Arsenal at the San Siro stadium. Both teams had maintained clean sheets in their initial three matches of the competition; however, Arsenal’s defense was finally compromised just before halftime due to a contentious handball call against Mikel Merino. Since joining Inter, Calhanoglu has successfully converted all 19 penalties he has taken across all competitions.
In the second half, Arsenal mounted significant pressure on the Inter goal, with Kai Havertz being thwarted by goalkeeper Yann Sommer and another attempt narrowly missing the target. Nevertheless, Inter’s defense held firm, allowing them to accumulate 10 points from four matches, placing them in fifth position. Meanwhile, Arsenal has fallen to 12th place with a total of seven points, as the top eight teams secure automatic qualification for the round of 16.
