Virat Kohli was on fire during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) clash with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2025. Opening the innings, Kohli set the tone with a quick and powerful 97-run partnership alongside debutant Jacob Bethell. RCB smashed 62 runs in just 33 balls, and Kohli’s explosive knock included 5 sixes and 5 fours.
But the real headline? Kohli made history — becoming the first player ever to hit 300 sixes for a single franchise in IPL. No one else has done it. The next best is Chris Gayle, who hit 263 sixes for RCB. While Gayle still holds the overall IPL record for most sixes (357), his total includes stints with other teams like KKR and PBKS.
That’s not all. Kohli also set a new record for most runs against a single IPL team, scoring 1,146 runs against CSK, overtaking David Warner’s 1,134 runs vs Punjab Kings.
