PlayStation Plus Premium members can beta test cloud streaming for portable gaming, independent of their PS5.
Sony is introducing a significant new feature to the PlayStation Portal: cloud streaming. Initially, the device was limited to streaming games from your PS5 via Wi-Fi. However, with a new system update being rolled out starting today, users will now have the capability to stream select PS5 games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog directly to their PlayStation Portal.

This feature is being launched in beta, and it is essential to be a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber to utilize it. According to Sony, a minimum internet connection speed of 7 Mbps is required for streaming at 720p, while 1080p streaming will necessitate a minimum speed of 13 Mbps. It is important to note that certain PlayStation Plus features will not be available initially with cloud streaming on the PlayStation Portal, including Game Trials, party voice chat, game invites for specific titles, 3D audio, and in-game purchases. Additionally, streaming of PS4 and PS3 games will not be supported, and child accounts will be restricted from using cloud streaming on the Portal.

The beta will be available in the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States
