She also reveals she’s had a “pretty intense year.”
Jennifer Lopez responded warmly to Ben Affleck’s enthusiastic remarks regarding her recent film role.
In the upcoming sports drama “Unstoppable,” Lopez portrays Judy Robles, the mother of one-legged wrestler Anthony Robles, a project co-produced by Affleck. He recently lauded her performance as “spectacular,” and Lopez has reciprocated the compliment.
At a special screening of the film in London on Tuesday, a red-carpet interviewer informed Lopez of Affleck’s kind words and inquired about her thoughts on his role as a producer. Lopez responded, “I would describe all of the cast and everyone behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful.” In a separate interview with People, she shared her holiday plans, reflecting on a challenging year.
“It has been quite an intense year for me, and I am most looking forward to spending time with my children and family coming from the East Coast,” the multi-talented artist stated. “The holidays have always held a special significance for us since my childhood. I eagerly anticipate those moments with my sisters, where we can relax, enjoy ourselves, and create new memories.” Following two years of marriage, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August, citing their separation date as April 26, 2024, in court documents.
In a recent discussion published by Interview, she expressed her feelings about being single: “It feels lonely, unfamiliar, and frightening. It feels sad and desperate. However, when you confront those emotions and acknowledge that they will not destroy you, you realize that I am capable of experiencing joy and happiness on my own. Being in a relationship does not define me. I cannot seek happiness from others; I must cultivate it within myself. I used to claim I was a happy person while still searching for something external to fill me, but now I understand that I am genuinely content.”
