IPL 2025 : Kohli, Patidar and Dayal to be retained by RCB.

Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal are the three players anticipated to be retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in preparation for the IPL 2025 mega auction.

RCB will incur a minimum cost of INR 36 crore for retaining two capped players and one uncapped player. Additionally, they will possess three right-to-match options during the mega auction, enabling them to reacquire one uncapped Indian player and two capped players, or alternatively, three capped players.

Notable players who will not be retained by RCB include their captain for the 2024 season, Faf du Plessis, along with Mohammed Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green. RCB concluded the IPL 2024 season in fourth place, ultimately losing the Eliminator match to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The deadline for the ten franchises to submit their lists of retained players to the IPL is October 31. Each team is permitted to retain up to six players prior to the mega auction for the 2025 season, with a maximum of five being capped internationals and two being uncapped players. The IPL has established minimum deductions from the auction purse for each retained player: INR 18 crore for the first, INR 14 crore for the second, INR 11 crore for the third, INR 18 crore for the fourth, INR 14 crore for the fifth, and INR 4 crore for an uncapped player. However, franchises have the flexibility to offer more or less than these specified amounts to their retained players.
