Apple teases new Macs for October 28, hinting at M4 lineup and more.

Apple is set to embark on a “week of announcements” commencing next Monday, October 28, which is highly anticipated to feature the introduction of new Mac models. Greg Joswiak, the company’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, hinted at this in a post on X, encouraging followers to “Mac (😉) your calendars!”
Joswiak stated, “We have an exciting week of announcements ahead, starting on Monday morning. Stay tuned…” It is widely believed that Apple will unveil desktop Macs and MacBooks equipped with M4 chipsets next week, following the launch of its first M3-powered laptops a year ago. The M4 chip made its debut in an iPad Pro earlier this year, yet Apple has not yet updated its Mac lineup with this chipset. There have been longstanding speculations regarding the release of M4-powered iMacs, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and a redesigned Mac mini by early 2025, and it now seems that these announcements will occur just before the peak holiday shopping season.
In addition to new hardware, Apple has plans for software updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, which will introduce users to Apple Intelligence features. Furthermore, the company has recently launched its latest iPad Mini. Although Apple is not hosting a formal product event this October, Greg Joswiak is teasing a “week” of Mac announcements beginning Monday morning.
Speculation regarding updated Macs has been prevalent, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reporting in an early October Power On newsletter that Apple intends to announce a range of Macs powered by M4 chips, along with a refreshed iPad Mini, which has already been revealed. The introduction of M4 Macs seems plausible, as Apple first announced the M4 chip alongside new iPad Pros in May, leading to expectations for its imminent appearance in the company’s computers. The forthcoming lineup of M4-equipped devices may include a budget-friendly 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, a new iMac, and a redesigned Mac Mini, which could potentially be more compact in size.
