The Worli police have initiated a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) concerning threats and extortion. The communication in question included a threat directed at Salman Khan, demanding a sum of ₹5 crore.

The WhatsApp message cautioned that failure to comply with the financial demand would result in a fate for Salman Khan that would be more dire than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has reportedly received a death threat, purportedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is demanding ₹5 crore to “resolve the enmity.” A WhatsApp message, forwarded to the Mumbai Traffic Police, indicated that if the payment is not made, the actor’s situation would be worse than that of Baba Siddiqui, who was recently murdered, allegedly by members of the Bishnoi gang.
The message stated, “Do not underestimate this warning. If Salman Khan wishes to remain alive and put an end to the conflict with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. Should he fail to do so, his fate will be more tragic than that of Baba Siddiqui.”
Sources indicate that the Mumbai Police are actively investigating the source of the message and have heightened security measures around Mr. Khan’s residence in Bandra. The actor has been on heightened alert due to prior threats, and this latest incident has intensified concerns regarding his safety.
Yesterday, the Navi Mumbai Police apprehended a significant figure associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The individual, known as Sukha or Sukhbir Balbir Singh, was captured in Panipat, Haryana, and is believed to be involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Mr. Khan. Reports indicate that Singh had commissioned other gang members to execute the attack on the actor.
As per police reports, Singh maintained direct communication with his handler, Dogar, who is based in Pakistan, to facilitate the planned assault. The gang allegedly intended to utilize high-caliber weapons, such as AK-47s, M16s, and AK-92s, which were smuggled from Pakistan for this purpose.
Singh’s arrest marks a significant development in an extensive investigation into the Bishnoi gang’s conspiracy against Mr. Khan. Earlier this year, the Navi Mumbai police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against 18 gang members for their involvement in the assassination plot. This FIR was prompted by a disturbing incident where gang members discharged firearms outside Mr. Khan’s residence in Bandra.
Among those named in the case are prominent figures from the Bishnoi gang, including Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol, Sampat Nehra, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Godhara. These individuals have been widely recognized for their involvement in organized crime throughout North India and have gained infamy for their overt threats and violent actions.
The ongoing investigation by the police has revealed alarming insights into the gang’s operational strategies. Sources indicate that the Bishnoi gang had deployed approximately 60 to 70 operatives to surveil Mr. Khan’s activities. These operatives conducted reconnaissance at multiple sites, including Mr. Khan’s residence in Bandra, his farmhouse in Panvel, and various filming locations. Furthermore, the gang reportedly sought to recruit minors to serve as sharpshooters.
Mr. Khan has previously been the recipient of death threats associated with the Bishnoi gang. In 2022, a threatening letter directed at the actor was found on a bench in proximity to his home, and in March 2023, he received an email purportedly from gang members. In January 2024, two unidentified individuals attempted to unlawfully enter Mr. Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel using false identities, an event that led the actor to enhance security measures at his residence.
The conflict between Mr. Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi has persisted for several years. The incarcerated gangster is said to hold a longstanding resentment towards the actor due to his alleged connection to the 1998 blackbuck poaching incident. The blackbuck is highly regarded by the Bishnoi community, and this incident serves as the primary motivation for the gang’s desire for retribution.
The sender claimed, “Don’t take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wants to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay ₹5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique, said Mumbai Police.
Sukhbir Singh was in touch with his alleged handler Dogar, who is based in Pakistan…
Singh, along with members of the Bishnoi gang, had devised a plan to utilize firearms sourced from Pakistan, including AK-47s, M16s, and AK92s, to carry out the purported scheme to assassinate Salman Khan, as stated by an official and reported by PTI.
On April 24 of this year, the Navi Mumbai police initiated a case against 18 identified individuals and additional members of the Bishnoi gang for conspiring to murder Salman Khan, according to the official.
This development was prompted by a shooting incident that occurred outside the actor’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, involving members of the Bishnoi gang.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, along with his brother Anmol, Sampat Nehra, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Godhara, were named as defendants in the FIR, as indicated by the official. The investigation disclosed that the gangs led by Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra had mobilized approximately 60 to 70 members to monitor Salman Khan’s activities. They were allegedly conducting surveillance at his residence in Bandra, his farmhouse in Panvel, and various film shooting sites.
According to reports from PTI, officials indicated that the suspects were attempting to recruit minors as sharpshooters and were armed with weapons obtained from Pakistan. Khan informed law enforcement that he suspected the Bishnoi gang was responsible for a shooting incident at his home, which was intended to target him and his family.
This information has been documented in the charge sheet submitted by the Mumbai police to the court concerning the incident. In January 2024, two unidentified individuals made an attempt to illegally enter Khan’s farmhouse using false identities.
Furthermore, in 2022, a threat letter was found on a bench near his building, and in March 2023, Khan received an email threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
