Royal Enfield is preparing to unveil a promising array of motorcycles, among which is the Interceptor Bear 650, for which patent design images have recently surfaced.

Based on the leaked patent design images, the Interceptor Bear 650 is set to incorporate a two-into-one exhaust system, replacing the larger twin exhaust configuration found on the Interceptor 650 Twin. Additionally, this motorcycle will utilize an upside-down fork arrangement rather than the traditional telescopic fork design. While the new exhaust system is expected to contribute to a reduction in weight, the more substantial USD setup will add some extra mass. Although details regarding the kerb weight of the motorcycle remain undisclosed, it is anticipated to be lighter than the standard Interceptor 650 Twin, which weighs in at 213 kilograms.
Royal Enfield’s latest offering, the Interceptor Bear 650, will be equipped with the renowned air/oil-cooled, 648cc parallel-twin engine. A significant distinguishing feature of this model is its distinctive two-into-one exhaust system, in contrast to the dual pipes typically seen on other 650cc Royal Enfield motorcycles.

The new exhaust system is anticipated to decrease the overall weight of the vehicle, enhancing its off-road handling capabilities. A few months ago, we reported on the impending arrival of the Interceptor Bear 650, and the design patent has now validated this information. The existing models feature a 648cc engine that produces 47 horsepower and 52.3Nm of torque, and we expect the overall performance to remain consistent, with minor adjustments to the gearing and fuel mapping. The Interceptor Bear 650 will also be equipped with a USD fork, similar to the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650, setting it apart from the more basic telescopic fork found on other 650 twin models.
While retaining the twin-shock absorber configuration characteristic of other Royal Enfield 650 models, the Interceptor Bear 650 is projected to offer enhanced suspension travel. It will embody a clean, neo-retro aesthetic that is emblematic of 21st-century Royal Enfield designs, featuring a classic fuel tank, minimalistic bodywork, comprehensive LED lighting, and a compact tail section. The Interceptor Bear 650 is expected to be positioned above the existing 650 twins, yet below the flagship Super Meteor 650. Royal Enfield Classic 650 Spotted In UK; India Launch Soon
The impending launch of the Royal Enfield Classic 650 in India is widely anticipated. The motorcycle is already production-ready and has been observed in Europe. It is expected that Royal Enfield will unveil the new Classic 650 in India within the next few months, coinciding with EICMA 2024. This model will be the fifth to feature the 648 cc parallel-twin engine configuration, following the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, and Shotgun 650.
Images reveal that the motorcycle shares a design aesthetic with the existing Classic 350, showcasing a similarly shaped fuel tank, fenders, and body panels. The round headlight, spoked wheels, retro ‘Royal Enfield’ emblem, and dual-tone color scheme closely resemble those of the updated Classic 350, which has recently received enhancements and new color options. Additionally, the engine casing and exhaust are finished in chrome, aligning with the retro design theme.
The Classic 650 will retain the 648 cc parallel-twin engine, producing 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a 6-speed transmission featuring a slip and assist clutch. Anticipate a relaxed riding experience akin to that of the Classic 350. The motorcycle is expected to be equipped with a 320 mm front disc brake and a 255 mm rear disc brake, similar to the Interceptor 650. Additionally, Royal Enfield may provide alloy wheels as an optional feature for the Classic 650.
As previously mentioned, the global debut of the Classic 650 is scheduled for EICMA 2024, with pricing details likely to be disclosed at Motoverse 2024. It is anticipated that the Classic 650 will be positioned between the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, making it one of the more economically priced 650 models from Royal Enfield. In terms of competition, its only rival will be the BSA Gold Star 650, which is a single-cylinder motorcycle.
The motorcycle will feature wire-spoked wheels and all-LED lighting setup
The forthcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 will incorporate several design features from the Interceptor 650. This scrambler will showcase a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round LED headlamp, a broad handlebar, a ribbed-pattern seat, grab rails, an upswept exhaust, and a circular LED taillight. Additionally, the motorcycle will be equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster and will be mounted on wire-spoked wheels.
It will come equipped with disc brakes and dual-channel ABS
The forthcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 will prioritize rider safety by featuring disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, complemented by dual-channel ABS to enhance ride quality and handling performance. The suspension system for this scrambler motorcycle is anticipated to utilize inverted forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Royal Enfield is likely to reveal the pricing and availability information for the new Interceptor Bear 650 during its launch event, scheduled for late 2023. The scrambler is currently in the final stages of development, with an expected price of approximately Rs. 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
Royal Enfield is likely to position it above the Interceptor and Continental GT 650, which means an asking price of about ₹ 3.4 to 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle will make its official debut at EICMA 2024 and the prices will be announced at Motoverse 2024, in Goa.
